               My  Fatherland

                   *

 - Affectionately  offered  to my relatives, compatriots & friends  actually  settling overseas.

                             *

I remember my lovely natal  country

With very foggy autumnal  mornings,

Covering the roofs of small houses.

That poetic scene disappeared soon  after

                                          winter’s coming.

I love my too distant homeland,

Having long rivers and vast plains

Where there were a lot of cattle

Coming back to quiet villages at nightfall.

I love ancient, pointed church towers,

Silently standing in opaque, weak moonlight.

It seems they are now much farther

From me, both of heart and sight.

I love ranges of  serrated mountains,

At their feet, columns of white-blurring smoke

Slowly rose from thatched huts in fine rains,

Surrounding clumps of trees and upstanding

 rocks.

I remember my beloved elementary school,

Where I was spending almost my childhood,

Learning how to write with my awkward hand

The two sacred words “ My Fatherland “.

I love earnestly my remote Fatherland.

From the other side of the Pacific Ocean,

I’d like to have my heart  sent

To my childhood memories, relatives and friends…

Phỏng dịch :

    Đất Nước Tôi
                          ***

Thương vế quê cũ của tôi

Mờ sương những sớm giữa trời mùa Thu,

Phủ trên mái lá mịt mù,

Cảnh thơ mộng ấy giã từ Đông sang.

                       *

Tôi yêu đất nước xa ngàn,

Có nhiều sông lớn mênh mang ruộng đồng,

Những đàn mục súc thong dong,

Trở về xóm vắng, dáng hồng chiều rơi.

                       *

Tôi thương thương quá đi thôi,

Tháp chuông vời vợi, nhìn trời lặng yên.

Sao tôi như thấy triền miên

Nỗi niềm xa vắng trong tim, trong lòng.

                        *
Tôi yêu dẫy núi cong cong,

Dưới chân khói biếc mênh mông một vùng.

Mái tranh mưa ướt rưng rưng,

Lùm cây, tảng đá khơi chung nỗi buồn.

                        *

Tôi yêu Đất Nước, Quê Hương,

Bên đây bờ Thái Bình Dương nghẹn ngào,

Com tim thấy nhớ nao nao

Ngày xưa thơ ấu, đồng bào của tôi …

Je me souviens de mon beau pays natal
Avec très brumeux matin d'automne,
Couvrant les toits des petites maisons.
Cette scène poétique disparu peu de temps

                                      après l'hiver à venir.
                           *
J'aime mon pays trop lointain,

                                                      verticales.

*
Je me souviens de mon école primaire bien

                                                          aimée,
Lorsque je passais près de mon enfance,

Apprendre à écrire avec ma main maladroite
Les deux mots sacrés " Ma Patrie " .

*

J'aime sincèrement ma télécommande Patrie.
De l'autre côté de l'Océan Pacifique,
Je voudrais avoir mon cœur envoyé
Pour mes souvenirs d'enfance, des intimes et

                                                                    amis…
